Spring? Updates!

What happened to our lovely springtime weather?!  Snow?!

Thank you to those of you who volunteered to help with random needs this past week!  The deer fence is now properly restored to it's original beauty.  Sorry Bambi, you're going to need to find another fast food garden! And thank you to those who hacked down bamboo to use as tomato and bean stakes!

Many of your have expressed great ideas on how to better build community within the ministry.  We're hearing you loud and clear!  Please make plans to join Dana and I for a brainstorming {and dessert munchin'} session  There are some incredible ideas, so we need some individuals to step up and make the ideas a realty!

Mark your calendars!

and we have... sprouting!

Before we could even start praying for someone to help us grow seeds, the Lord provided someone.  How cool is that?!

Our new garden friend, Susan, offered to start the Garden Ministry's broccoli and cabbage seeds using her personal seed starting set-up.  She's caring for them daily with tlc - thank you so much Susan!

Susan sent us a photo update...

Look at those babies growing!  Before we know it, we'll be planting them in their very own raised plots.

FaceBook Fun!

The Westover Community Garden now has it's own FaceBook page!  It sure felt like spring this weekend, and as much as we would have loved to be planting instead we were planning!

We are prepping  for the 2013 gardening season in a big way.  One of our goals is to  have better communication with the volunteers.  Thus, this blog and the new FaceBook page {two-way communication at it's finest!}

Please don't ever be shy.  We always want to hear from you; questions, concerns, feedback - just drop us a line or pick up the phone!

Spread the word about the Westover Community Garden!
